Focus and Scope

Vivid: Journal of Linguistics and Literature provides a scholarly platform dedicated to exploring the dynamic interplay between language and literature, with a keen focus on advancing knowledge and understanding in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our journal aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and promote impactful research that addresses pressing global challenges while contributing to the advancement of linguistic and literary knowledge.

The scope of Vivid encompasses a broad range of topics within the fields of linguistics and literature, including but not limited to:

  1. Stylistics and Literary Analysis: Examining the linguistic features, narrative techniques, and rhetorical devices employed in literary texts to explore themes related to identity, representation, social justice, and human rights.

  2. Sociolinguistics and Cultural Studies: Investigating the role of language in shaping cultural identities, representations of language diversity in literature, and the impact of societal norms and power structures on linguistic practices.

  3. Translation Studies and Intercultural Communication: Exploring the challenges and opportunities of translating literary works across languages and cultures to foster cross-cultural understanding, empathy, and cooperation.

  4. Literary Linguistics and Cognitive Poetics: Analyzing the cognitive processes involved in literary reading, examining the ways in which language shapes literary meaning and interpretation, and exploring the interface between linguistics, psychology, and literary studies.

Through its focus and scope, Vivid aims to contribute to the advancement of sustainable development by addressing a wide range of global challenges outlined in the SDGs, including quality education, reduced inequalities, gender equality, sustainable communities, climate action, and life on land.

We welcome original research articles, review papers, theoretical analyses, and critical perspectives that contribute to a deeper understanding of the intricate relationship between language and literature while addressing pressing global issues in alignment with the SDGs. Join us in our endeavor to foster meaningful scholarly discourse and make impactful contributions toward a more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable world.

Publication Frequency

Journal Vivid is published twice a year during March and September. Vivid is published with a minimum number 5 articles for a volume and a maximum number 20 articles. The submission will be open whole year.

Open Access Policy

Vivid provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Non-commercial use and distribution in any medium is permitted, provided the author and the journal are properly credited.

Vivid also operates under the Creative Commons License CC-BY-NC. This allows for the reproduction of articles, free of charge, for non-commercial use only and with the appropriate citation information. With this license, authors retain copyright to their manuscript, but allow any user to share, copy, distribute, transmit, adapt, and make commercial use of the work without needing to provide additional permission, provided appropriate attribution is made to the original author or source. However, first publication rights are granted to the publisher. The journal/publisher is not responsible for subsequent usage of the work. It is the author's responsibility to bring an infringement action if so desired by the author. All authors publishing with the Vivid accept these as the terms of publication.

Journal History

  • 2012 : Jurnal Vivid was firstly published.
  • 2016 : Journal Vivid improved the layout by using a new template article and the look by using new theme.
  • 2018 : Jourrnal vivid formed a new editorial board to improve the qaulity of publishing.
  • 2019 : Journal Vivid was accreditated SINTA 4 by Ministry of Education.
  • 2024 : Journal Vivid was accreditated SINTA 4 by Ministry of Education.
